I was thrilled when Maria contacted me for maternity and newborn photos. She is SUCH a breathtaking mama with an equally beautiful spirit. We started our session indoors with some fabric wraps photos. I love the serenity of the wrap shots; Maria described it perfectly, "simple and understated." Then she changed into a black lace Marilyn gown, which complimented her figure so perfectly, and also wore a lovely floral crown that completed the look. She was the epitome of glamorous!
We went to Oak Ridge Forest Preserve for the remainder for our photo shoot. But first, can I just ask, "who let the 1,089,932 mosquitos out?!!?" We were pretty much attacked, but Maria and her husband were amazing at staying composed. At the time it was no laughing matter, but I couldn't help but chuckle in post processing as I edited out the swarms of mosquitos on and around them, and the outtakes of swatting mosquitos that didn't make the final cut.
Bugs aside, the images that we created make me so happy, along with the "moving portrait" we shot at the end of the session. Maria was hoping for an ethereal feel to the session, and I think her portraits, and especially the video, poses a touch of heaven. I can't wait to photograph their little princess, due to arrive next month!
