my girl {ruffle romper + red riding hood} | Rockford, IL baby photographer

And so the countdown begins to June's first birthday! For her 11 month photos, I made her a ruffle romper from a $1 Loft shirt that I found at the thrift store. I also made her a chamomile headband and a dried flower headband. The dried flowers were actually from my sister's high school homecoming corsages that she saved and pressed. I recently found them in a book when I was cleaning out our childhood bedroom at my parent's house. I'm loving the look of the dried flower headbands and how they complimented her purple romper.

We started out in the studio, and she didn't want to sit still for a second, now that's she's walking. The first set of images was a floor set up, but she soon wanted nothing to do with it when she spotted the beanbag behind me. She was determined to incorporate it into her photo shoot, and had fun climbing on it and sliding down the other side. June's my adventure girl!

Then we headed outside to Espenscheid Forest Preserve to get some outdoor photos of our new walker. Our little red riding hood was looking cute than ever and ready to explore the woods. It was pretty wet and muddy though, so we snapped a few pictures and took a raincheck for another day when we had our "play clothes" on.

June's milestones at 11 months:

  • She's WALKING!
  • She sign's "more" and "all done"
  • She loves smoothies
  • She loves slides
  • She folds her hands when she prays
  • She throws her hands up when she dances
  • She makes a car noise when playing with brother's cars
